Eye Glasses

When you need a method of vision correction, eyeglasses are a good choice. They are sturdy and functional, and they look great when worn. However, it can be hard to choose the right frames for your face. If you aren't sure whether you want designer frames, a smaller brand, big glasses or small ones, there are a few ways that you can make the choice easier. When you need to see the eye doctor for a new prescription for glasses, call Kelly Vision Center in Goodlettsville to schedule your time with the optometrist.

The Right Shape

One of the ways to choose just the right pair of eyeglasses frames is to look at the shape of the frames. Look at the part that goes around the eye and holds the lenses in place. That area will have a shape such as round, oval, cat eye, square, rectangular, etc. The shape that you choose can change the way your face looks. The intent is to make the face look like it's an oval.

Before you choose your frames, take a look at the shape of your face. It may be square, round, etc. Then check a few shapes to see how they change the appearance of your face. If you have an oval face, you can choose virtually any frame shape. If you have a rectangular face, you may need a round pair of frames to make your face look more like an oval. When a shape works well for your features and your face shape, you can then concentrate on finding the right frame color.

The Right Color

Many people gravitate toward certain frame colors because they are their favorite color. However, that doesn't mean that the color will go well with your skin tone. Many people choose tortoiseshell eyeglass frames because they go with a broad range of face and hair coloring.

If you want to go in a different direction, hold the frames you're interested in up to your face and hair to see how well the color goes with them. You may find that the frame color clashes with your own coloring, or you may find that it's a good fit for your unique coloring.
